Power BI Service Copilot Usage Metrics (User-level)
Hello,
I want to pull user-level usage metrics for Copilot consumption in Power BI Service (standalone Copilot or the Copilot pane when viewing a report).
The metrics should show what user submitted a prompt and a timestamp (if it includes which report they were viewing or whether it was standalone Copilot then that's a bonus).
Reading through the API documentation, I'm not convinced Microsoft 365 Copilot APIs (e.g. getMicrosoft365CopilotUsageUserDetail) or Office 365 Management APIs provide metrics for Power BI service specifically - the documentation seems to suggest they are more for core M365 applications.
Has anyone had any success with this and could point me in the direction of the correct API if it exists?
Thanks

Hi JakeHRogers,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community.
For user-level Power BI Copilot activity, use Microsoft Purview audit logs. Search for CopilotInteraction events and identify Power BI interactions using the application identity Copilot.Fabric.CopilotforPowerBI . These records provide user identity and event timestamps.
For automated collection, use the Office 365 Management Activity API with the Audit.General feed. Validate the returned events for both standalone Copilot and the report Copilot pane to confirm which context fields are available.
For reference, follow the below documentation:
