Drive / change slicer selection based on value selected from a matrix
- Anonymous9 months ago
Hi punitpopli ,
Thanks for the additional details.. The behaviour you are trying to replicate from Qlik where a selection inside a matrix updates the slicer and filters other visuals is not supported in Power BI. Measures cannot be used as filters, and visuals cannot push their selections back into a slicer or override its value.
Because of this, clicking a product in the Cost matrix cannot drive both matrices or change the slicer selection. The closest supported alternatives are using disconnected slicers, drill-through, or separate detail pages.
If this approach does not meet your requirement, please share a small sample dataset and the expected behaviour so we can help suggest a workable Power BI design.
Please show the expected outcome based on the sample data you provided.

punitpopli Actually, you should be able to change the options in the Slicer based on a selection in the Matrix by editing the interactions. By default, selections in visuals do not interact with slicers. However, you can change this default behavior by choosing Edit interactions from the View menu.
