Does Microsoft Fabric natively support direct integration with GitHub

Does Microsoft Fabric natively support direct integration with GitHub for deployment pipelines in the same way that Power BI deployment pipelines support integration with Azure DevOps?

    Hi Mahesh0016

Welcome to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum. Also, thank you Akash_Varuna for your quick response.

Yes, Microsoft Fabric supports native GitHub integration focused on version control and collaboration, rather than full native CI/CD deployment pipelines like Power BI's integration with Azure DevOps. Git integration in Fabric is available at the workspace level and supports GitHub (cloud), GitHub Enterprise (cloud), and Azure DevOps Repos. This allows users to version control supported Fabric artifacts such as notebooks, data pipelines, semantic models, and reports, work with Git branches, track changes, and maintain workspace structures within a Git repository. However, not all item types in Fabric are currently supported, and some Git-related features are still in preview. Unlike Power BI, Fabric does not offer out-of-the-box deployment pipeline integration with GitHub. Instead, CI/CD workflows must be implemented manually, typically using GitHub Actions or similar automation tools by leveraging the Microsoft Fabric REST APIs for tasks like deploying artifacts or promoting content between workspaces.
