direct query to Snowflake from Power BI Report Builder without using datasets/semantic models
- Anonymous2 years ago
Hi aref_tashnizi ,
I understand that you’re looking to use Direct Query to connect to Snowflake in Power BI Report Builder without using Power BI datasets or ODBC. After thorough investigation, this feature is currently not available in Power BI Report Builder. You can use ODBC to connect to Snowflake. Here are the steps to do so:
1. Open Power BI Report Builder and click on "Data Sources" in the "View" tab.
2. Click on "Add" to add a new data source.
3. Select "ODBC" as the data source type.
4. Choose the appropriate ODBC driver for Snowflake and click "Next".

5. Enter the Snowflake server name and credentials and click "Next".
6. Select the database and schema you want to connect to and click "Finish".

Hi , Is this feature to connect with direct query to Power Bi Desktop is also not available? Is it a limitation from snowflake side or Power bi desktop side ?
