Date Between Slicer Issue After "Publish to Web (Public)"
Hello Community,
I am encountering an issue with the "Date Between" slicer in Power BI after publishing a report using the Publish to Web (Public) option. Here’s the scenario:
- In Power BI Desktop, I created a report with a Date Between slicer, which allows users to select a range of dates.
- After publishing the report to the Power BI Service, the slicer works perfectly in the service.
- However, when I use the File > Embed Report > Publish to Web (Public) option to generate a public link, the behavior of the slicer changes.
- The slicer is no longer displayed as a "Between" slicer. Instead:
- Only the "From" part of the slicer is visible.
- The "To" part is blank.Only the FROM date range is there! the To date range is MISSING!

This affects the report’s usability for users accessing the public link.
Has anyone else experienced this issue, or can anyone suggest a solution to ensure the slicer works as intended in the public link?
I’d greatly appreciate your insights or any workarounds for this.

May I ask if this issue is only on specific reports or all reports?
Here I have a test on my side and the between slicer works well after publishing to web.
Please check the size of the report when you embed. Choosing an inappropriate size when you embed can also cause this issue.
I suggest you to delete the embed code and try again.

This issue with the "Date Between" slicer in Power BI Publish to Web (Public) is a known limitation. The "Between" slicer sometimes doesn’t render correctly in the Public Embed version due to how Power BI handles slicer visuals in public web embedding.
Workarounds to Resolve the Issue:
1. Change Slicer Type to Dropdown or List- Instead of using a "Between" slicer, change it to a Dropdown or List slicer.
- This is the most reliable method, as these slicer types are consistently supported in public embeds.
2. Use Two Separate "After" and "Before" Slicers
- One for Start Date ("After" mode)
- One for End Date ("Before" mode)
- This approach mimics the functionality of a "Between" slicer.
3. Ensure Browser Compatibility
- Sometimes, this issue is browser-specific. Ensure you are testing in modern browsers like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox.

for anyone that could'nt solve it even after deleting and **bleep**,
it turned out you needed to resize the slicer (basically there was no space for the other part of the slicer to appear) some idiotic reason when you publish to web it appears that way
if you want to put it into shape then you have to redraw it boo hoo
