Creating a dataset and configure the gateway at scale

Hi

I am a analytics vendor who provide data services to multiple clients.

Most of the I am connecting to on-promise DB of a major ERP system, so the data schemas are exactly the same.

Currently we are spending a lot of time configuring the gateway on the PBI service and copy and pasting SQL queries for each client seperatly.

I want to speed up this gateway configuration and the dataset setup.

I was thinking about creating the dataset and connect it to the gateway automatily using an API or something like this?

any other ideas?
