    Hi Anonymous,

When a visual is installed from AppSource, a local copy is saved in your report. For some reason, this is missing from yours - you can confirm this by opening your .pbix in a compressed file tool such as 7Zip. Navigating to the Report folder in this archive, should show a CustomVisuals folder, and then any custom visuals are included there, e.g. (for a file with this correctly applied):

    Root of .pbix

    Report folder

    CustomVisuals folder

In your .pbix, the CustomVisuals folder is missing:

This will likely be why you're getting the error message. It's not an issue with Charticulator per se; more that Desktop has got your report into an incorrect state... somehow.

    Fixing-Up

To rectify, I re-added Charticulator from AppSource and saved the report. Re-checking the .pbix now shows that everything is as it should be:

Note that when you re-add the visual with the affected page open, it is not automatically re-initialised by Power BI Desktop, so it appears to still be "broken". Navigate away from the current tab and back (or close and re-open the file) for this to re-initialise correctly.

Hopefully this should resolve for you in a similar way. Good luck!
