Summarize Table
Good Morning
I am currently building a dashboard, and ive stumbled across an issue. Ive created a Summarize table with the following DAX
Weekly Attendance = SUMMARIZE('BSCA Attendance','BSCA Student Data'[Adno],'BSCA Calendar'[Academic Year],'BSCA Calendar'[Week Num],"Weekly Present",SUM('BSCA Attendance'[Present & AEA]),"Weekly Possible",SUM('BSCA Attendance'[Possible]))
within this table im then working out the percentage attendance and for those adno (ID) that are 100% for the week are given a pt of 25. This is all working fine, the issue ive got is that I need to filter this table using the BSCA Calender columns and this isnt working. Is there any way I can do this. I cant use the attendance table as the marks are split up 2 sessions per day. I have done some other IF dax but this made the dashboard two slow to run

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.Hi Greg_Deckler.
You remember the thread about newbies? 🙂 Frequent Visitor... I'll be reminding you of them for a while so that you get the scale of what I was talking about. And I strongly hope you already know why you should never use SUMMARIZE to do any calculations in it. If not, then I'd recommend going to www.sqlbi.com and finding the article by Marco that treats this topic in depth.
And yes, I know it's not a measure we're talking about here. Nevertheless... However, it's kind of clear from the description that the asker is after a measure since he believed he could filter this table dynamically by dates.

I am not sure you need a summarize table here, can this be done within a table visual? How are all these tables connected in the data model? That part is key to success everywhere else.
I am on my phone so won't give a long answer, but if you wanted to explain in more detail.why daxer thinks this should be a measure, hopefully the below post helps.
