SUM Error 4,52 (String)

Hello everyone,

 

I'm new here and it's my first time.

I am slowly starting to get to know PowerBI.


Now I have values in a column "Quantity affected". I would like these to be displayed as a total in a card. But I get the following error message (see screenshot below). What am I doing wrong? Thank you for your help

    Trying to add (using SUM) a column of strings?  That won't work, it needs a numeric datatype
