Filter context on a variable

Hello,

I have a table that correctly shows the "current savings" for this year to date (see below)

I want to add a fixed amount that is stored as a variable to each row... when I do this it seems to break the date context filter and shows ALL of the months in the year:

ANy idea what i'm doing wrong - what I want to see are months July through to current month with the current savings and measure for those months.

Thanks folks!

  • Hi,

    I tried to create a sample pbix file like below.

    Please check the below picture and the attached pbix file.

    I hope the below can provide some ideas on how to create a solution for your datamodel.

    Value plue 100 measure: =
    SUMX (
        DISTINCT ( 'Calendar'[Month-Year] ),
        CALCULATE ( IF ( [Value total measure:] <> 0, [Value total measure:] + 100 ) )
    )

      Thank you for replying. I have tried that and it works. I was wondering If there was a "best practice" way of handling constants and filter context?
