Creating An Average Ticket Formula

Hi everyone,

I am new to DAX, the reason I got into this thread was because I am trying to sort out a calculation that I want to input it for my dashboard visualization, that is, the Total Number of Sales/Total Count, for the Total Count I do want to filter 4 values out of 10 values. For example, Total Sales/Total Count(Installed Scheduled, Closed Won, Contract Signed, Installed Completed). It would be nice if I can see the calculation, so I can play around and see if I can get the result I want. Thank you in advance!

    Hi CuriousGuy001 ,

    (1) This is my test data.

    (2) We can create measures.

    Total Sales = SUM('Table'[sales])
    Filtered Count = CALCULATE(
                         COUNTA('Table'[Status]),
                         FILTER(
                            'Table',
                             'Table'[Status] IN {"Installed Scheduled", "Closed Won", "Contract Signed", "Installed Completed"}
                         )
                     )
    Average Ticket Size = DIVIDE([Total Sales], [Filtered Count])

    (3) Then the result is as follows.

    If the above one can't help you get the desired result, please provide some sample data in your tables (exclude sensitive data) with Text format and your expected result with backend logic and special examples. It is better if you can share a simplified pbix file. Thank you.

    Best Regards,

      Hi there,

      Thank you for this modelling and vizualization and yes this is what I was looking for. I appreciate it!

    Is it possible to provide more context?

    - screenshot of model, showing tables & relationships

    - sample table data (10 rows or less)

    - screenshot (from Excel perhaps) of desired visual output

    Regards,

    Nathan
