Bug with Activator Teams bot
Hi fabric community,
I was playing around with Activator, and I noticed what appears to be a bug with the teams bot.
The bot itself doesn't allow anyone to send messages to it:
however, if I hover over the bot in my chat history, the popup that appears does allow me to send a message to the bot:
Specifically if I click and hold in the "Message Fabric Activator" box, I can type and then send the message.
This very much appears to be a bug, but I figured I'd post about it. I'll submit a proper bug report through a ticket sometime next week (my CSAM is tired of me finding bugs right now I'm sure).
Hi,
This has been identified as a bug by the support engineers, there is nothing on my end to fix. I was just posting this for awareness.

Hi tayloramy,
Thank you for contacting the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
Based on my understanding, the message "You cannot send messages to this bot" in the Fabric Activator Teams bot might occur due to:
- The bot or app is blocked for the user or tenant in the Teams Admin Center.
- The bot was previously blocked by the user.
- A Teams client issue, particularly in the New Teams client, causing the chat input box to be disabled even though the “Message Fabric Activator” remains active.
Please follow the steps below, which may help resolve the issue:
- Sign out of Teams and sign back in, then try again using the Teams web app (https://teams.microsoft.com).
- Check with your Teams administrator to confirm the app is not blocked by navigating to:
Teams Admin Center → Teams apps → Manage apps → Fabric Activator (should be Allowed), and
Teams apps → Permission policies / Setup policies.
