  • A Gantt chart with actual vs planned progress, along with KPI cards for key metrics, can be very effective for project control dashboards. It provides a clear view of project status and delays.

I am agree. a gantt chart with kpi cards gives a quick, clear view of project progress and any delays.

  • For project control with actual vs planned progress, a few options worth considering:
Built-in: The native bar chart with a reference line or a bullet chart works fine for simple planned vs actual comparisons. Not the prettiest but gets the job done.
AppSource visuals: The most popular ones for this use caseis  Bullet Chart by OKViz (classic planned vs actual

Zebra BI: If you need something more polished and financial-report-style with variance indicators, Zebra BI Tables and Charts are widely used in project control contexts. They're certified and handle plan vs actual really well out of the box.

but actually the best opction is deneb I share my gallery here https://github.com/Juan-Power-bi/Power-Bi-Deneb

  • For Project Control, a Progress Bar with Actual vs Planned %, S-Curve, or Gantt Chart with progress tracking are usually the best choices.

For management reporting, I recommend combining KPI cards + S-Curve to quickly show project health and delays. For the project team, use a Gantt chart with actual progress for detailed tracking.

  • A Gantt Chart with progress bars is usually the best visual for project control, as it shows planned vs. actual progress and project status at a glance.

  • A good choice is a data bar showing actual Progress against Planned Progress. Add a variance indicator if possible so delays and ahead of-plan status are easy to spot.
