Help with D3 design

Does anyone have any suggestions on the D3 design process involved in the development of a custom visual?

I find this to be very frustrating. Is there any way to do this visually like designing forms in Visual Studio.

    No, there isn't any designer tool to simplify the development process unfortunately.
