Unable to start Fabric free trial - Error Code 200
I am attempting to activate the Microsoft Fabric free trial, but I continuously receive the following error message:
“Sorry, we are unable to start trial at this time. Please try again later or contact support.”
I recently created a Microsoft Entra ID tenant and am using my organizational account:

The issue occurs during the Fabric free trial signup process. Please investigate whether there is a problem with tenant eligibility, licensing configuration, or backend provisioning.

Please advise on how to resolve this issue and enable the Microsoft Fabric free trial for my tenant/account.
Hi Abdullah_A,
I've seen this happen a few times, and in many cases the issue isn't actually with Fabric itself but with tenant-level settings or licensing prerequisites.
A few things I'd check :
- Make sure your account has a supported Power BI or Microsoft Fabric license assigned.
- Ask your Microsoft 365/Fabric administrator whether Fabric trial creation is allowed in your tenant. Many organizations disable self-service trials through tenant settings.
- Verify that your organization allows users to create Fabric capacities and start trials.
- Since your tenant was recently created, it may simply need 24–48 hours for full backend provisioning before Fabric trial activation becomes available.
- Try opening Fabric from a private/incognito browser window to rule out a cached authentication issue.
Microsoft documentation on Fabric trial requirements :
https://learn.microsoft.com/fabric/get-started/fabric-trialYou may also want to review the tenant settings documentation, as administrators can explicitly enable or disable Fabric trial access :
https://learn.microsoft.com/fabric/admin/fabric-switchOne quick question : are you using a corporate account, a school account, or a personal Microsoft account?
That detail can help narrow down the root cause quite a bit.
Hope this points you in the right direction! If you find the answer, feel free to share the resolution here it could help the next person who runs into Error Code 200.
Hi Abdullah_A
If your tenent created recently, you need to wait until 90days completion. Have a look on response from microsoft.
