Stop Removing Roadmap Items
Can you please stop just removing Roadmap items without communication or any reference to the fact it has been abandoned.
We are tracking Roadmap items for clients that are of interested like Parameterised Connections (enabling metadata driven solutions) and Workspace Public IP Firewalls.
I still have the links and screenshots stored externally, but now they go nowhere, and there is no evidence, communication, or reasoning for why these no longer exist. At least be open about the communication with your user base. Flag it as abandoned, discontinued, or Merged with another item.

I recommend submitting your detailed feedback and ideas through Microsoft's official feedback channels. Roadmap items are subject to change based on product priorities and technical evaluations. Sometimes items may be removed if they are merged into like other features, postponed indefinitely or no longer align with the direction.
Currently the Microsoft Fabric Roadmap does not always display a status like abandoned or merged when items are removed.
If you need detailed information about specific Roadmap items like Parameterized Connections or Workspace Public IP Firewalls, I recommend raising a support ticket with Microsoft Fabric Support. This will allow the product team to provide more context or suggest alternatives if available.

Thanks Anjan - I understand Microsofts legal out caveats for roadmap delivery. The correct solution from Microsoft still however should be to "At least be open about the communication with your user base. Flag it as abandoned, discontinued, or Merged with another item"
I'm working on multiple clients implementing these solutions - I dont have time to track, check, and raise tickets for dissapearing Roadmap items as a full time job. They should keep a proper audit log of what has happened to the roadmap items so that users can have trust in the product and Microsoft in being transparent.

I don’t think either of these were abandoned; I saw both mentioned and the metadata driven pipelines demoed at FabCon just last month. As other users stated they were probably rolled into another existing feature development.

Thanks Andrew - The problem and solution in my original point still stands though. "At least be open about the communication with your user base. Flag it as abandoned, discontinued, or Merged with another item" is the right thing to do.
I can't trust or sell to clients the use of undocumented features.
It also just doesnt make sense if it was released in some capacity why not just flag it as Shipped like other roadmap items.

You’ve raised a very valid point. Transparency around roadmap changes is crucial—especially when organizations rely on those features for planning and client communication.
While Microsoft may remove or consolidate roadmap items for various internal reasons (e.g., reprioritization, merging with broader initiatives), it would indeed be much more helpful if:
- Items were marked as “Abandoned”, “Merged”, or “Postponed” instead of being silently removed.
- A change log or archive of removed roadmap items was maintained for reference.
- Users were notified or given context when a tracked item is no longer available.
Your feedback is spot on, and it would be worth submitting it through the official Fabric Ideas portal or directly via your Microsoft account team if you have one.
