Rayfin App deployment issue.

Toggled "Fabric Apps (preview)" tenant setting offon, confirmed it shows enabled, waited overnight, re-authenticated — still 403 on every attempt

403 FeatureNotAvailable — "The feature is not available"

What am i missing here?

    Hi nitinjain ,

The question has now been answered because the root cause of the error has been identified. In this case, the issue is not related to the tenant settings, but to the fact that Fabric Apps (preview) is not yet available in certain regions.

The only remaining step is for Microsoft to enable support for that region so the feature can be used there.

    Thanks

  • Hi nitinhighdigita
Looking at the 403 FeatureNotAvailable error, the most likely cause is a region issue. Even with the Fabric Apps (preview) tenant setting enabled and propagated, the feature isn't available in every capacity region yet.
Could you check which region the capacity assigned to your workspace is in? (Admin portal → Capacities → capacity region, not the tenant home region).

According to Microsoft's official region availability matrix, Fabric Apps (preview) is not supported in several common European regions — including Spain Central, UK South, UK West, Germany West Central, and Italy North. If your capacity is in any of those, the 403 is coming from there, not from the tenant setting.
    Reference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/admin/region-availability

If this helps, a 👍 would be appreciated and if it resolves the issue, please mark it as the solution so it can help others running into the same error.

    Thanks

  • Hi nitinhighdigita,

I agree with arabalca that the capacity region is the first thing to verify, as 403 FeatureNotAvailable is commonly returned when the preview feature isn't available in the region hosting your Fabric capacity.

If your capacity is in a supported region and you're still seeing the error, could you also confirm:

    • The Fabric capacity SKU (F2, F4, F64, etc.)

    • That your workspace is assigned to that Fabric capacity (and not running on shared capacity)

    • Whether the Fabric Apps (preview) tenant setting is enabled for your user or security group (if it's not enabled organization-wide)

    • The Correlation ID/Activity ID from the error details, if available

These details will help determine whether this is a capacity configuration issue or something that needs to be investigated by Microsoft.

  • Hi Enough-Milne,

At the moment, Microsoft hasn't published an official rollout timeline for Fabric Apps (preview) in the UK region.

Based on the outcome of this thread, the 403 FeatureNotAvailable error isn't caused by tenant settings or permissions—it's because the feature hasn't been enabled in the capacity region yet.

A few things you can do in the meantime:

    • Verify the region where your Fabric capacity is hosted (Admin portal → Capacities). It's the capacity region that matters, not your tenant's home region.

    • Keep an eye on the Microsoft Fabric Region Availability page, as Microsoft updates it when preview features become available in additional regions.

    • If this feature is business-critical, you can open a Microsoft Support ticket or contact your Microsoft account representative to check whether there's any planned rollout information for your region.

Unfortunately, until Microsoft enables Fabric Apps (preview) for UK-hosted capacities, there's no tenant-side configuration or workaround that can bypass the 403 FeatureNotAvailable response.

Hopefully, support for the UK region will be added soon.

Why is there no timeline for a product we pay a significant amount for? It's not really good enough for such a massive company?

  • I completely understand your frustration.

Preview features can be especially challenging because they're often rolled out incrementally by region and capacity, and Microsoft generally doesn't publish firm rollout dates until a feature is broadly available. That can be frustrating when you're paying for Fabric and trying to plan deployments.

Unfortunately, from what we've seen so far, a 403 FeatureNotAvailable response typically indicates that the service hasn't been enabled for the capacity's region yet, rather than a tenant configuration issue.

If this is blocking a production workload, I'd recommend opening a Microsoft Support ticket or raising it through your Microsoft account team. Customer demand and support cases can help the product team understand where regional availability is having the biggest impact.

Hopefully Microsoft will publish a broader rollout update soon, as I'm sure other customers are waiting on the same capability.

Not resolved but got the reason why it was happening. Will wait till Rayfin is available in UK zone.

  • it is pretty ridiculous that there is no timeline or update for a feature/service we pay for?
