MS Fabric External Data Sharing issue

Getting error while doing External data share for cross tenants with same region. Error is "External share not connected". Could you please help me to fix this issue and where we can see the log for this error to understand more about this error"?

    Hi arulmolhi03

What Fabric artifact were you sharing externally when you got the error? What is the data region for both workpaces? Is the region the same as the tenant home region?

It may be related to the following Known issue:

Known issue - External data sharing doesn't work in a different region capacity lakehouse - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn

The engineers are validating the fix internally. The fix is expected to be deployed to production soon, but no definite date has been provided. Thank you for your patience.

    Best Regards,
    Jing

      Hi Anonymous

      Thank you for the reply.

I tried with both table and csv file which are placed in the Lakehouse from provider tenant to consumer tenant. These two tenants are in same region "West Europe". I am getting this error after this step Accept and select a location. I did the steps mentioned in this link Accept an external data share - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn after this getting "External share not connected" error when the external share initialized after the consumer accepted and selected location. Please help me to resolve this issue.

        Hi arulmolhi03

I got an update that the fix to the issue has been implemented. It needs some time (maybe several days to weeks) to be deployed to all regions. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

        Best Regards,
