Advocate IIGet data into data warehouse using shortcuts
Hi fabricator1 You can only create a shortcut to a Warehouse from a Lakehouse. You are not able to create a Shortcut in a Warehouse to another resource.
Hi fabricator1, You can create a new lakehouse, add shortcut to it. And then in the warehouse, you can add the lakehouse which will expose the shortcut data as well.
The constraint is both Warehouse and Lakehouse should be in the same workspace.

I guess you are referring to Cross Database Query: Query the SQL analytics endpoint or Warehouse - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn
Then I understand:
- I cannot create a shortcut in a Warehouse.
- I can create a shortcut in a Lakehouse.
- I can use that Lakehouse as a source in a Cross Database Query in the Warehouse.
