Root cause: A maintenance action to disable specific features related to Git operations resulted in unintended impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are investigating the maintenance process used to better understand what caused the issue and to prevent future impact.

This is the final update for the event.

  • i have the same issue by calling the api via service principal over powershell since yesterday in different tenants

  • Hi WiloHendriksen,

Raise a support ticket / issue to Microsoft

    • This seems to be a “platform‑level” problem affecting multiple users.

    • Contact Microsoft support or raise a ticket inside your tenant / through official support channels.

I've been experiencing the same issue since today when using the 'Update My Git Credentials' API using SPN with Azure DevOps.

Same issue here. I had a cicd job using a service principal to check and sync the git status of a workspace and it stopped working all of a sudden
