Fabric trial capacity error

I am getting this error "Sorry, we couldn't find that artifact. Unable to complete the action because this Fabric capacity is currently paused. Contact the capacity administrator for help." . Currently i am using trial capacity and the workspace is assisgned to that capacity . I still have 33 days left . I do have a paid capacity of F4. But i need to use the trial for development. How do i resolve this issue?

  • Hi Karthik_PV , I second what svenchio is saying.

Contrary to what rohit1991 posted, trial capacities cannot be paused, so if you are getting this error, then the workspace you are working in is sitting on the F4 or another paid capacity.

Capacities also can't be paused/resumed from the Fabric Admin portal, that needs to be done in the Azure portal as per Pause and resume your capacity - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn

Karthik_PV can you double check your workspace settings to see what capacity your workspace is assigned to, if required switch it over to the trial capcaity?

  • Hi Karthik_PV

This usually happens when your Fabric trial capacity gets paused automatically. Even if you still have days left, it must be resumed manually.

Could you please try below steps:

    1. Go to Microsoft Fabric Admin Portal >>Capacities.

    2. Find your Trial capacity (e.g., F64 Trial).

    3. If the status shows Paused, click Resume.

    4. Wait a few seconds, then refresh your workspace or reload the report.

    5. Once active, your items should open without that error.

    6. If you have a paid F4 capacity, you can still assign your development workspace to the trial one after resuming.

    7. If you don’t see the Resume button or it doesn’t start, ask your Fabric or Power BI admin to enable it again in Tenant Settings.

  • Hi Karthik_PV  I think this question needs a closer look at your configuration for one reason ...Microsoft Fabric trial capacities cannot be paused!  You either have it 60 days or cancell it ... this means that, if you are getting that meesage is because the action workspace is using the paid F4 capacity ... so be careful!

CONFIRM what is the capacity your workspace is using FIRST before anything else, and change to your Free trial if needs be.

Paid capacities on the other hand, CAN be paused and resumed via Fabric or Azure portal rather easily. Hope this calrified the situation. Mark this as answer if deemed to ... best of lucks

Apologize Karthik_PV , I said that you can Pause/Resume via Fabric or Azure portal, but you can only do this operation via Azure portal, best of lucks mate!

From Fabric portal, you can have quick access to the resource group your Fabric capacity has been provisioned
