Dynamics 365 F&O - Fabric Integration

Hi All,

I am trying to integrate Dynamics 365 F&O data to Fabric. I replicated the entities in Dynamics 365 F&O to Dataverse. They come as virtual tables in Datavese.

I am trying to use 'Link to Fabric' in Dataverse platform and shortcut in Fabric as well. But those do not replicate the virtual tables that had been brought to Dataverse.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

  • Hi, I was able to figure out the integration steps.

    1. Need to enable SQL row version tracking

    2. Build indexes for the tables in AX DB

    3. Build the solution again in Visual Studio which takes a good amount of time (> 3 hours)

    4. And then perform Link to Fabric and then select the tables which you require to be replicated.

The tables from D365 will be linked to a Fabric Lakehouse as a shortcut. There is one-to-one linkage. One D365 environment can be linked to only one Lakehouse.

      Dear govindarajan_d

May I ask you. Did you encountered performance issues on the linked D365 database?

      Thank you.

        Hi PunChili,

On the D365 system no performance issues. Microsoft had built this Link in such a way the sync happens in a throttled manner. Throughput is controlled (like 5000 rows at a time) and number of tables parallely synced is also controlled. So, you wouldn't face any performance issues even during initial sync.

govindarajan_d  I There are couple of queries
    1. I have been struggling with this error. My user as Fabric admin, Dataverse Admin, D365FO Admin, BI Premium & Pro licenses. My data FO entities are reflecting into dataverse.

    2. When on BI service I used Genflow2 ETL with dataverse connector to connect with my dataverse, it is not showing my entities.

Note: FO Entities - allow row change tracking field is enabled

      Hi MaazKhan,

      1. Is the workspace you are trying to connect - Is there an active Fabric capacity and in the same region as the dataverse?

      2. As far as I remember, entities are not supported for syncing, they need to manually re-created as views on the Fabric side.

I followed this article Configure your environment and link to Microsoft Fabric - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn.

        1. I have been using Fabric trial F64 and my dataverse and workspace both are in space region EU.

        2. There are custom entities of our custom tables, I would like to expose them into Fabric, it is allowing me with ETL Gen2Flow with OData connector however with dataverse connector the entities aren´t visible. Additionally, link to fabric functionalities isn´t working as well. I really need to resolve this problem

I had set a fabric link before for my D365 dev instance, and my user had been able to select a workspace that i had created for him. Yesterday when i was trying to create the fabric link to the prod instance, we had several problems.

First one, he is unable to see the workspaces, in the step where you select the destination workspace, no matter of what permission on the capacity he is given. the only option appearing for him is create a new workspace.

The second issue that we had on my side was that the creation of workspace and lakehouse, in the last step was failing again and again, with some advice to try later, which didn't solve the issue.

opened a support ticket with Microsoft.
