DP-700 Practise test
Hi everyone,
I came across a Microsoft Learn / exam-style question related to monitoring data transformation processes in Microsoft Fabric, and I wanted to sanity-check the explanation with the community.
The question marks “Configure alerts for transformation failures” as the correct answer, with an explanation stating that alerts can be configured via the Monitor hub.
However, from a product/UI perspective, the Monitor hub today:
Provides visibility into runs, failures, and durations
Acts as an observability surface
Does not currently allow direct alert configuration within the hub itself
My understanding is that the explanation is using conceptual exam language, where “alerts” broadly implies proactive failure notification via Fabric-integrated monitoring mechanisms, rather than a literal “configure alert” action inside the Monitor hub UI.
Would appreciate confirmation from others:
Is this how you interpret these exam explanations as well?
Are alerts here meant in a logical/monitoring sense rather than a strict UI capability?
Posting this mainly to align exam logic vs real-world Fabric behavior, as the hyperlinks and wording can be a bit misleading.

Hi NikhilMysari, I also couldn't find any option to set alerts in the monitor hub directly (only in the realtime hub). I believe that the answer that was marked ("Configure alerts for transformation failures") is generally correct (since there are many ways to set up alerts for failure, depending on the chosen artifact), but the explanation isn't correct.
I also saw at least one question in the free practice exam where the explanation was off and gave answeres that didn't really match the options or question itself.Hi NikhilMysari
The language in the explanation is slightly misleading in my opinion, as it presents that we can set up alerts on the Monitor Hub literally. I think what it meant to say is that we should schedule the transformation as a pipeline so it can be monitored in the Hub. That's the best way to observe failures and performance bottlenecks.
Sometimes it is best to pick up the right answer based on process of elimination.
