Cannot start Fabric Trial

Hi everyone,

I am new to Fabric, I would like to start Fabric Trial to explore the platform. Unfortunately I couldn't start the 60 days trial option. I created an user from Entra ID and gave it Fabric admin and some other admin roles to use this, but it din't work. Could anyone please guide me how to solve this? I would appreciate your help. Thank you very much.

    Hi QueenNguyen,

Admin roles do not change whether the trial is offered, so adding more roles to the user will not help. What usually matters is the tenant itself and two tenant settings. A quick checklist:

    1. Fabric Admin portal > Tenant settings
-> "Users can try Microsoft Fabric paid features" = Enabled
-> "Users can create Fabric items" = Enabled
    2. Sign in at app.fabric.microsoft.com as that user (work account in your tenant,
not a personal Microsoft account or guest)
    3. Account manager (profile icon) > Start trial
    4. Note the exact error text; "A Fabric trial isn't available for your account"
usually means the tenant is not eligible (common for newly created tenants)

If step 4 is what you see, there are several recent threads with the same result on new tenants, and the practical way forward is a small pay-as-you-go capacity instead of the trial:

Azure portal > Create a resource > Microsoft Fabric
-> Size F2, region = your tenant home region, capacity admin = your user
-> Fabric: Workspace settings > License info > assign the F2 capacity
-> Pause the capacity in Azure whenever you are not using it

F2 is enough to explore lakehouses, notebooks, pipelines and warehouses, and pausing means you only pay for the hours it runs.

So my overall approach would be:

Check the two tenant settings + sign in as the tenant user
-> Trial still refused: tenant not eligible
    -> F2 pay-as-you-go capacity, paused when idle
