Fabric Roadmap
Hi v-aatheeque,
Thank you for the detailed response and for sharing the official Microsoft Fabric resources.
I agree that capabilities such as Copilot, Real-Time Intelligence, OneLake, Direct Lake, and improved DevOps integration are likely to play a significant role in enterprise adoption over the coming years.
I have one follow-up question based on enterprise implementation. As these capabilities continue to mature, which feature do you believe organizations should prioritize first when starting their Microsoft Fabric journey? For example, would you recommend focusing on building a strong OneLake foundation before adopting AI-powered features like Copilot, or is there another roadmap that you've seen work well in practice?
I'd also be interested in hearing how other community members are prioritizing these features in their organizations and what has delivered the most business value so far.
Thank you again for your guidance and for pointing us to the roadmap and release resources.
The prioritization often depends on an organization's business objectives, existing data platform, governance requirements, and analytics maturity, so there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach.
In general, many organizations start by establishing a strong data foundation with OneLake, governance, and data integration before expanding into advanced capabilities such as AI-powered experiences (Copilot) and Real-Time Intelligence. Building a solid foundation can help maximize the value of these features as adoption grows.
Microsoft provides architecture guidance and best practices that may help with planning:

Hi v-aatheeque,
Thank you for the clarification and for sharing your perspective.
I agree that there isn't a one-size-fits-all adoption strategy, as priorities naturally vary based on an organization's business goals, existing data platform, and governance requirements.
Your recommendation to establish a strong foundation with OneLake, governance, and data integration before adopting advanced capabilities like Copilot and Real-Time Intelligence makes a lot of sense. Building a well-governed and scalable data platform first can help organizations realize greater value as they expand their Microsoft Fabric implementation.
Thank you again for sharing these insights and for pointing to the official Microsoft Fabric architecture guidance. It provides a valuable reference for anyone planning an enterprise Fabric adoption strategy.
