Microsoft provides a 60-day free trial which is great but once that ends you lose access.
Since you're a student looking to learn and develop data science skills on Microsoft Fabric, I could totally see you wanting more than 60 days. Unfortunately, you can't get access to Fabric via a personal email address/account. It's intended for businesses.
To get around this, I got a Microsoft 365 Business Standard subscription and created a domain and business email account. I then used that to create my own personal Microsoft Fabric instance. Be careful though. Even an F2 is expensive. But you can pause it when you're not using it and that will save you a lot of money.

It's also good to check this free workshop, it's hands-on training designed for analysts working with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. More than that Microsoft all the time provide trial or discounts for students, so it's all the time to check if you're student for trial eligibility and discounts since sometimes they don't offer trial or discounts to all but students and sometimes to unemployed.
