FTL4 Trial Spark failing - InvalidRequestClusterFromFabricDenyList - Cluster Cancelled before Ready
FTL4 Trial, Canada Central. Spark sessions cannot start in multiple workspaces. Both Starter Pool and custom Small 1-node pool fail. Error is InvalidRequestClusterFromFabricDenyList and cluster is cancelled before reaching Ready. Please advise whether the Fabric Trial capacity/Spark backend needs to be reprovisioned or removed from the deny list.

Hi pritwade,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community.
The error indicates that the spark cluster request is being rejected during provisioning, before the session reaches the ready state. Since this occurs with both the starter pool and the custom pool, the issue is not related to the notebook or spark pool configuration.
Please raise a Microsoft Support ticket so that the team can investigate the spark provisioning issue for the affected FTL4 trial capacity/region.

Hi Anjan,
Thank you for confirming that this is a Spark provisioning issue.I followed the Microsoft Support ticket process. However, when I reach the “Contact support” form, there is no support plan available for my account. The only option shown is “+ Add new contract.”
I am using an FTL4 Microsoft Fabric Trial capacity and therefore I am unable to submit the support request you recommended.
Could you please advise how I can escalate this Spark provisioning issue for a Fabric Trial capacity without an existing support contract, or whether this issue can be escalated internally?
Thank you.

Hi Anjan,
Thank you for your response. I tried to raise a Microsoft Support ticket as suggested. However, I am unable to submit the support request.
The Fabric support portal shows the following error when I submit the case:
“Failed to submit – HttpRequestWorker.requestInternal error create ticket 400.”Under Support Plan, the only option available to me is “Add new contract.” I am currently using an FTL4 Microsoft Fabric trial capacity in Canada Central.
The original Spark issue is still occurring with both Starter Pool and Custom Pool, with error:
InvalidRequestClusterFromFabricDenyListCould you please advise how I can raise the support case without an existing support contract, or escalate this provisioning issue internally?
Thanks.

Hi pritwade,
Thank you for the update. This looks like a backend provisioning issue with the current Fabric Trial capacity.
- As a temporary test, if another eligible user can create or share a Fabric Trial capacity, please create a new empty workspace on that capacity and try running a spark notebook there. If possible, use a different available region.
Please do not cancel the existing trial or move the existing workspace/items. This test will help confirm whether the issue is specific to the current trial capacity.
Thanks and regards,

Maybe your Fabric trial is over its capacity, for example, an FTL4 SKU provides only 8 Spark VCores and does not support bursting or job queueing . If you have any active Spark sessions, or if your capacity is throttled because of past usage, new session requests will be rejected.
