Fabric Lakehouse SQL Analytics Endpoint - SQL Projects extract.
When extracting a SQL database project from a Lakehouse SQL analytics endpoint using Visual Studio, I only receive the CREATE VIEW definitions. The CREATE TABLE definitions for the underlying Delta tables are missing, even though the tables are visible and queryable through the endpoint.
The behavior is inconsistent because table definitions are generated for some SQL analytics endpoints but not for others. Has anyone encountered this issue or found a reason for the difference?

Hi Eswar-Sahukari,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community.
Since extraction works for some endpoints but not others, compare whether they use legacy metadata or new metadata sync (preview). Because the new sync uses an external table-based architecture, which is a relevant difference to investigate but it is not a confirmed cause.
Retry the extraction using the same account, extraction settings and with the latest updated Visual Studio/SSDT. If tables are still missing, capture the extraction logs for a support investigation.
For deployment, maintain delta table creation scripts in spark notebooks separately from sql endpoint views, do not recreate the underlying tables through the endpoint.

Thanks Anjan for your reply.
Both the lakehouses have the "new metadata sync" feature turned on at their respective workspace level.
Both of them are schema enabled.I tried extracting the SQL database project using SSMS22, VSCode latest, Visual Studio 2026 and Fabric UI. It shows the same behaviour. No luck

Hi Eswar-Sahukari,
Thanks for confirming. Since the issue persists across all extraction tools, it does not appear to be specific to Visual Studio or SSDT.
I recommend please raise a Microsoft support ticket and include both affected and working lakehouse details. This will help the team investigate why the delta table definitions are missing.
