Fabric Event stream Pause and Rsume

How can we pasue and resume fabric event streams?

  • Hi KGU_16031986 ,

To pause and resume eventstream, please use Activate All/Deactivate All which is present in eventstream ui itself.

If this post helps, please accept this as a solution. Appreciate your kudos.

    Thanks,
    Pallavi

    Hi KGU_16031986,

Thank you pallavi_r, for your helpful insights.

Fabric Eventstreams allow you to pause and resume (Deactivate/Activate) data flow either across all nodes or on individual nodes using toggle switches. When resuming, you can choose to start from the last stopped point, now, or a custom time to help prevent data loss. Note that some connectors may not support this feature, and for Lakehouse/Eventhouse destinations, you might need to activate manually with a custom time to ensure all data is routed correctly.

  • Hi KGU_16031986 ,

Thanks for poiniting this out, I was also looking for same. Although this is a critical issue which needs to be addressed as delete the item is not a good option. Please me know if this added in Fabric ideas, I would like to give headsup for this !!

  • Hi,
my event stream is to monitor storage account and using that I run few triggers on condition.
But when I checked to deactivate it, I can't see the options available.
    Triggers run as expected.

But when I went through the link v-saisrao-msft sent to me, it clearly says for eventstream on Azure blob storage, pause and resume not avaiable.

    So is this a limitation?
only option to stop this eventstream is to delete it?
Appreciate your support  on the above questions.

      Hi KGU_16031986,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. According to the documentation, Azure Blob Storage as a source does not currently support Pause/Resume (Deactivate/Activate). That’s why you don’t see the toggle option in the Eventstream canvas, while other sources like IoT Hub or Event Hub do offer it.

Your triggers will still function as expected. However, for Blob Storage sources, the only way to stop processing is to remove or unpublish the stream.

If you’d like to have this feature in the future, you can submit your suggestion to Microsoft. If it receives enough support, the product team might include it in future updates. You can share your idea here:

      Thank you.
