Connect Semantic model to QA lakehouse when deploying from DEV environment
- 1 year ago
Hi Anonymous
In addition to above points regardig the connection of semantic model to connect to QA lakehouse from DEV lakehouse :- Use deployment rules in Power BI to manage data connections when transitioning between environments.
- In the deployment pipeline, create a rule that specifies the connection string for the semantic model.Set the rule to replace the existing connection to the QA lakehouse with the SQL Analytics Endpoint of the production lakehouse.
- Once the rule is set up, deploy the semantic model to the production workspace. The deployment rule will automatically update the connection to point to the production lakehouse.
- After deployment, verify that the semantic model is correctly connected to the production lakehouse and functioning as expected.

Hi Anonymous ,
Thanks for reaching out on Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
To better assist you in changing the connection of your semantic model from the DEV lakehouse to the QA lakehouse, could you please clarify which storage mode you are using for your model?
Are you using Import Mode or Direct Query?
This information will help us understand the best approach for updating the data source.
